A Day of Pain and Distractions

I'm over 40 and rebuilding my life after a deep personal and financial crisis. The Online Beggar is my way of turning pain into purpose — one story, one step at a time.

Last night, I finally slept better than usual. This morning, I woke up around 8:30, but I had no desire to do anything. With my smartphone in hand, like a zombie, I started mindlessly scrolling through social media.

Eventually, I told myself to snap out of it. I got up, had breakfast, and turned on my computer to continue working on the project.

Today, though, I didn’t tackle any technical updates. I focused primarily on writing, trying to make the most of my mental energy. Around 11 a.m., I decided to get dressed and head out to buy groceries.

During my errands, I ran into a few acquaintances and took the opportunity to chat a little. Everything seemed fine until I was hit by a sharp pain near my right hip. It was so intense that I struggled to stand, so I decided to head back home by noon.

Once home, I turned the computer back on and started entering my information into a portal for job applications and contests. It was tedious and time-consuming, and after an hour and a half without finishing, I decided to stop for lunch. My mother had already cooked, so I joined her at the table.

After lunch, my motivation completely evaporated. I didn’t want to force myself, so I chose to relax in front of the TV, eventually dozing off. I woke up around 4 p.m., had a snack, and grabbed a coffee, but the peace didn’t last long.

My mother, as she often does, stirred up a heated discussion, filling the house with yelling directed at me and my father. One day, I might share more about what we have to endure and how deeply it has shaped my life.

Frustrated and irritated, I almost decided not to continue working on the project. But with the lingering pain in my hip keeping me from going out, I eventually returned to writing. Unfortunately, I could only work in short bursts because we had visitors interrupting me throughout the evening.

I didn’t accomplish much today, and writing this story feels like the last effort of a day overshadowed by yelling, pain, and fragmented productivity.

Honestly, I don’t think I’ll do anything more tonight, but, as always, I’ll find out as the evening unfolds.

Ah, I almost forgot. In the meantime, I’ve encountered a new problem to address: how to give you the ability to follow my story and journey in a clear and chronological order. It’s a question that has made me think deeply, as I want every reader to fully immerse themselves in my journey without feeling lost among the stories.

Despite this challenge, I’ve decided to keep moving forward. Continuing to work and write remains my top priority right now. I’m confident that in the coming days, I’ll find a suitable solution – something that makes everything simpler and more cohesive for both myself and those who choose to join me on this path.

Every problem is an opportunity to improve, and even though it sometimes feels like there are only obstacles, I want to believe that this question will find its answer. The Online Beggar is a work in progress, just like I am, and facing these challenges is an essential part of the process.
