Uncle is still on a ventilator, which helps him breathe, but for now, the situation seems stable.
The doctors have reassured us that he is under close observation and receiving all the necessary care. This provides us with some relief, even though the waiting is filled with anxiety and hope. There’s little we can do but wait, trust in the expertise of the medical team, and pray for his recovery.
Today, my cousin—his son—finally managed to see him. After days of worry, that brief moment by his father’s side was invaluable, offering him a sense of comfort and connection, even if just for a few minutes.
He seemed more at peace afterward, and his calmness reassured all of us, spreading a sense of quiet hope.
In the afternoon, I drove him to the train station as he needed to return to his young children, who live far away and depend on him.
I know he would have preferred to stay close to his father, but his responsibilities to his own family called him back. It felt meaningful to support him in this challenging time, even in such a small way.
Despite everything, I feel a bit calmer today. Perhaps it’s a glimmer of hope breaking through the uncertainty, but I truly believe that uncle can overcome this battle.
Although he is an oncology patient and quite fragile, I have faith that his strength, combined with the doctors’ care, will guide him toward recovery.
I imagine the day he returns to us, embraced by the love of those who care for him and still need him deeply in their lives.
